My Fourth Hike to Bare Mountain (W6 CT-082) 6388 ft, 10 October 2016

Arrived at the trail head at 0530, temperature was 44F (6C) which is higher than what I would expect this time of year. My past October hikes have started at this location with the temperature at freezing or just below.

Along and down the jeep road, then left at the shot up sign (34.3768 -117.9884) and up the fire break

View of the summit, just after the final long steep section. I had never before noticed that there are some pine trees right of the ridge here

Set up the EFHW, lots of activity of 40m, not so much on 20m. Then 30m, followed by 2m FM. I had thought the signal would be blocked by 8000 foot mountains further south, but was able to work Charles KM6CEM in San Dimas
