My annual winter hike of Kratka Ridge, though I have also hiked up there at other times of the year, most recently for the Europe-North America summit-to-summit activation weekend.
Angeles Crest Highway, parked at the Vista Point area just east of the disused ski area.
The temperature was just above freezing, and the snow was icy. Decided to wear my snow shoes and take a ski pole and the antenna mast

Then up from the saddle, I went too low and the slope was steep. The crampon points on the snow shows were inadequate for side hilling and I kept slipping. So finally went up the slope to where it was less steep and picked up the correct trail
Looking up the slope
Would have been better with crampons and ice axe.
Reached the old lift house near the top and set up on a log.
20m was good, 30m had a lot of RFI, which maybe was from medium wave signals that were picked up by the very long ski lift cables.

Looking down the old single chairlift
I used to go left from the chair to here
And then down the intermediate run here, now becoming overgrown
